A 54-YEAR-OLD Helensburgh woman will appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court after being arrested on suspicion of drink driving in a town centre street.

Officers on patrol in Sinclair Street in the early hours of Sunday, August 25 stopped a red Vauxhall after reportedly spotting it being driven in an erratic manner.

A strong smell of alcohol was allegedly detected from the female driver and the woman, from James Street, subsequently failed a breath test.

She was taken to Clydebank police station after being arrested and readings from further samples of breath were also in excess of the legal limit.

The woman was charged with driving whilst under the influence of alcohol, and was released to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court at a later date.
