HELENSBURGH made its own moment of fashion history last weekend when a global designer made an appearance at a town centre boutique.

Lulu Guinness - made famous by her quirky handbag collections - made her first ever appearance at an independent retailer, and took the opportunity to meet customers at Anne of Loudounville in the Burgh.

Queues snaked through Colquhoun Square as dozens of folk waited to catch a glimpse of the fashion icon, who launched her latest collection as a celebration of her 20th anniversary in the business.

Shopowner Anne Mitchell told the Advertiser: “We are the first independent retailer that Lulu has ever made a personal appearance at, which we are extremely proud of.

“It was really a fantastic event for the town which created such a buzz.”
