MORE than 30 people from around Helensburgh and Lomond and beyond gathered in Arrochar recently to take part in the first event held by the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs area’s new ‘social enterprise hub’.

Called Growing Enterprising Communities, the event, held at the Three Villages Hall in Arrochar, saw more than 30 people from Helensburgh, Lomond and across the National Park area gather to share their understanding of what it means to be an enterprising community and to find out about the tools and approaches that could help them develop their own initiatives.

Lara Moir, the hub’s business development manager, said: “There is a huge value in sharing experiences, challenges and solutions across the community organisations in the National Park, and we are looking forward to being able to facilitate many more events in the future.”

The Hub’s next programme is designed for people who may have heard about ‘social enterprise’ but are not yet sure what it is.
