A HELENSBURGH woman originally from Hungary has been formally sworn in as a citizen of the United Kingdom at a recent ceremony.

Kinga Mihaly received her official British citizenship at the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre along with Kristina Trick, who has a Danish background and lives in Rhu.

Kinga has been in Scotland for nine years, living in Helensburgh with her 14-year-old son Tomas and working at the Mulberry Bush Nursery in Charlotte Street.

Kristina has been in Scotland all her life and lives and works in Rhu.

Deputy Lord Lieutenant Linda Moffat represented Her Majesty The Queen at the ceremony and Councillor Graham Hardie represented Argyll and Bute Council.

The occasion was the culmination of a year long Home Office process and the pair were warmly welcomed to the community as new British citizens.
