POLICE in Helensburgh are investigating an attempted housebreaking in the town.

The owner of a private property in Garraway Place is said to have observed damage marks to her front door and to have found the door sitting at an angle on Monday morning, September 30.

Officers attended the home and confirmed that a tool of sorts had been used in an apparent attempt to gain entry.

Anyone with any information on the alleged incident, which is believed to have occurred on the evening of Sunday, September 29 or early on Monday, is asked to contact Helensburgh police station via 101.
