HERMITAGE Primary was transformed into a pop-up hairdressers recently as children were given a free trim just in time for the new school year photos.

Local hairdressers donated their time at the event organised by the school’s parent council and every pupil who attended got a fresh cut.

Claire Walker, parent council chair, said: “We are delighted at the turnout to our event and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

“We cannot thank our volunteer hairdressers enough. Without their support this would not have been possible.

“Although the services were offered for free, donations were received which will assist with boosting school funds.”

A post on the parent council’s Facebook page afterwards added: “On behalf of the parent council I would like to thank everyone who contributed to our first event of the year, Hermitage Hosts Hair.

“It was wonderful to see so many people come along.
