THOUSANDS of Helensburgh commuters had their train journeys to work disrupted on Tuesday morning because of a broken rail in the east end of Glasgow.
The problem was discovered on the westbound section of track between Carntyne and Bellgrove.
Trains on all routes via Glasgow Queen Street low level, in both directions, were affected, including the Helensburgh-Edinburgh, Airdrie-Balloch, Dumbarton-Springburn and Milngavie-Edinburgh lines.
Some of the busiest journeys of the day from Helensburgh Central towards Glasgow were delayed, cancelled or terminated short of their destination.
ScotRail said the disruption was expected to last until around 12.30pm.
