THE skies along Helensburgh’s waterfront will be lit up this weekend as the town’s annual bonfire and fireworks display returns.
Stalls at the usual Helensburgh pier car park site will open from 6.30pm on Saturday, November 2, while the bonfire will be lit at 7pm and the fireworks display begins at 7.30pm.
A spokesman for the organisers, Helensburgh and District Round Table, said: “This year’s event has been made possible with substantial support from local sponsors: Mather Hire (Helensburgh), Ardardan Estate, Ridings Sawmills (Cardross), William Thompson and Sons (Dumbarton), Babcock International, and Townhead Farm, not forgetting kind donations from all the folk who gave generously at the display last year.
“We hope as many of you as possible can come along and enjoy some offerings from the stalls.

“This year we have Kilcreggan Café providing hot food, Flippin’ Fancy Pancakes with sweet treats, Remo’s Ice Cream van and Slavin’s Toys for something to keep the wee ones entertained.
“Helensburgh Netball Club will also be serving hot chocolate and there will be candyfloss and popcorn from the Vale of Leven Autism and Aspergers Forum.
“And remember, all donations on the night go towards next year’s rockets.”
