POLICE arrested a 26-year-old man on the A82 near to Duck Bay Marina for allegedly driving whilst under the influence of drugs.

A black Nissan Micra was stopped at around 4.30pm on Friday, November 8 and officers reportedly detected a strong smell of drugs from within the vehicle after speaking to the driver.

The man, from Davidson Road, Alexandria, was required to provide a sample for a drug impairment test which was said to have proved positive for controlled drugs.

The driver was arrested and taken to Clydebank police office where further samples were taken for analysis, and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal pending the results of the lab tests.
