A FORMER Hermitage Academy pupil is embarking on a Christmas holiday with a difference by starring in a festive theatre production touring the USA.

Nathan Press attended the Ian R. McLeod theatre school in Helensburgh for 18 months before moving south of the border to take up a place at the Performers College in Essex.

Now in his final year studying musical theatre and dance, the talented 20-year-old has joined the cast rehearsing for the Broadway spectacular Christmas Wonderland, with the show’s opening night set for the stage in Davenport, Iowa, on Friday, November 29.

He flew out to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina last week and will also travel to Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey, among other venues, before wrapping up the run in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The stage star will leave the States on his 21st birthday to fly back home on December 23.

Excited mum Louise said: “This is a massive achievement for Nathan and he has worked so hard to get where he is and I am so proud of him.

“Both Nathan and I want to thank everyone that has supported and believed in him, he would not be where he is without them.

“A huge thanks also goes to Performers College for giving him this wonderful opportunity.”
