A FORMER pupil of Hermitage Primary and Lomond School will return to his ‘home turf’ in Helensburgh this weekend to answer some tough questions about Christianity and the credibility of the Bible.
Jonathan McLatchie will be in the ‘hot seat’ in the Jubilee Room at the Victoria Halls on Sunday, January 12 at 6.30pm, in an event organised by Bethesda Christian Fellowship, who have billed it as a chance to ‘Grill a Christian’.
Mr McLatchie, who teaches biology at Sattler College in Boston, Massachusetts, holds a bachelor’s degree with honours in forensic biology, a Masters (M.Res) degree in evolutionary biology, a second Masters degree in medical and molecular bioscience, and a PhD in cell biology.
He has been in demand on various media throughout the world and now regularly defends and discusses his beliefs with atheists, skeptics, scientists, philosophers and people of other faiths (especially Islam).
He also counsels Christians who may need help in thinking through their own questions or doubts.
Anyone who wishes to attend can send questions in advance to jimmclatchie@btinternet.com.
Sunday’s event is free, and all are welcome to attend.
