PEOPLE in Helensburgh and Lomond are being asked to consider giving a home to overlooked dogs currently being cared for at the Scottish SPCA's rescue centre in nearby Dumbarton.

Gabriel, Gideon, Abi and Bruno have been at the animal rescue and rehoming centre in Milton for a collective 465 days.

Kim Mackrell, assistant manager, said: “They have been continuously overlooked so we are desperate to find their forever home.

“Gabriel is a crossbreed and he’s a lovely boy who would fit in nicely to a family home with children over seven as he is very playful and loves a fuss.

“Gideon is a hyper lurcher who is full of fun. His ideal owner would be home most of the day as he doesn't like to be left alone too long.

"He can be very sensitive so will need an experienced, confident, adult only home.

“Abi gets along great with people and is very needy for affection, so she’d enjoy a family home with children, no younger than seven years.

“Like most lurchers, she has a high prey drive so would not be suitable to live with cats or small animals.

“Bruno is a clever German shepherd. He will need a confident, adult only home with no other animals.

"We’d prefer his new owner to be someone who has plenty of spare time to continue his training and socialisation.

“All of these dogs could make brilliant companions for the right owner. We always say rescue pets make great pets and these dogs are no exception.”

Anyone who is interested in rehoming Gabriel, Gideon, Abi or Bruno should contact the Scottish SPCA’s centre on 03000 999 999.
