Advice on looking after your own life, and those of others, will be on offer at a 'health and wellbeing' event in Rhu this week.

Following on from the success of the recent Living Well Fest at Helensburgh Parish Church, Rhu and Shandon Community Council is organising its own health evening, taking place on Thursday, January 30 at the Rhu and Shandon Community Centre.

Starting at 7pm with a bowel cancer awareness session, guest speaker Iain Kerr, who lives in Helensburgh, will share his recovery story after successfully overcoming the disease.

A heart-start and defibrillator awareness session will then run from 8-10pm, led by Sheenah Nelson, who has been instrumental in training around 4,000 people over the past two years.

Coffee, tea and shortbread will be provided and anyone interested in coming along is free to stay for either, or both, of the sessions.
