Beginners' crochet class

Helensburgh Art Hub, West Clyde Street – Saturday from 3pm

Make your very own nestling bowls with tuition by Sharon from 'Sew Silly Lily'. Choose and bring along your own yarn – you'll need a chunky or super-chunky yarn that recommends 7-8mm pins/ hook. You’ll need 50g each of three different colours.

Rhu beach clean

Gareloch Road, Rhu – Sunday 10am-12noon

Run by the Zero Waste Shop in Helensburgh and the Rhu Clean-Up Crew. Meet outside the Ardencaple Hotel at 10am.

Bring suitable clothing, garden gloves or similar, and your own litter picker (if you have one).

Garelochhead beach clean

Shore Walk, Garelochhead – Sunday 10.30am-12.30pm

Meet at the Gibson Hall end of Shore Walk. Why not come along and fill a bag or two to help keep the Garelochhead shore free of litter?

Sunday at Seven

Helensburgh Parish Church – Sunday at 7pm

Scottish tenors Cailean Swainson (pictured above), Christian Schneeberger and David Douglas, accompanied by Derek Clark, will sing in the latest Sunday at Seven concert at Helensburgh Parish Church.

A varied programme features classical highlights, traditional Scots songs and songs from the shows.

Entry is free with an opportunity to give a donation as you leave.
