Argyll and Bute Council has announced it is suspending household recycling uplifts and glass collections due to the coronavirus pandemic – and has closed all of its recycling sites.
The authority also says that "for the time being", non-recyclable waste for landfill will continue to be collected.
Householders in Helensburgh and Lomond, and across Argyll and Bute, have additionally been warned that refuse collectors may not get to houses on the usual uplift days.

In a list of 'frequently asked questions' published on the council's website and dealing with a variety of issues in addition to waste and recycling, the authority said: "From a public health perspective, we are required to prioritise food and domestic waste collections and we are making plans to ensure we do everything we can to keep to our planned schedule.
"This means, for the time being, your bins will still be collected.
"However, we have had to change the way we work and we may not always get to you on the day we plan. We will catch up and details will be put on our website.

"We will carry out more full waste collection from commercial premises that have now closed.
"Uplifts will continue for premises that remain open, for example supermarkets, pharmacies etc
"We will discontinue household glass collections and are suspending our recycling uplifts (blue bins and bags).
"Please understand, this is not a decision we have taken lightly.
"We know this will be inconvenient, but please try and store your recycling somewhere until we are able to put alternative arrangements in place.
"We are closing all our civic amenity sites so we can prioritise operating our landfill sites."
