ONE of Helensburgh's churches has shared a message of faith for Easter that it's hoped might bring some comfort to people amid the dark times of the coronavirus crisis.

The Rev Dominic Ind, rector of St Michael and All Angels Church in William Street, was in the church with his wife Anna earlier this week, recording videos to share with the congregation during Holy Week, while lockdown restrictions have put normal church services on hold, when they noticed the sun shining on the face of 'Faith' on the church's marble pulpit.

Anna said: "The sun was shining through one of the roof windows on the south side of the church directly on to the pulpit.

"The marble pulpit has three roundels featuring Faith, Hope and Charity, and for seven minutes between 2.51pm and 2.58pm, a sun beam shone through the marble of the pulpit lighting up the face of Faith till it blazed like fire.

"We stood mesmerised as we watched her expression change as the sun moved across her face – awesome indeed!

"We feel truly blessed to have witnessed this especially during these dark and troubled days and wish everyone in Helensburgh to know that this miracle happened during the holiest week in the Christian calendar 2020.

"May it be truly a sign of faith for the future when this crisis is over."
