AN ARGYLL and Bute charitable organisation is hoping to publish a book of 'lockdown memories' from people across the region to show future generations how the area got through the coronavirus pandemic.

The Third Sector Interface (TSI) is asking community members to send in their short stories, poems, sonnets or photos which have helped keep them going during the shutdown.

The TSI's Lauren Martin is aiming to spread the word far and wide and get as many contributions as possible by the time the pandemic passes.

She said: "As we are all in this together and finding ways to help the wider community, especially the older ones and those self-isolating, it is rather difficult, to say the least.

"So we have come up with an idea that will hopefully remind us of how we, as a community, came together to combat this pandemic.

"We are looking for short stories, poems, sonnets, drawings/sketches, a picture, a photo – anything at all that helped you, inspired you, or kept you going during the lockdown.

"It can be about a special delivery person, the neighbour next door that you previously never spoke to, the postman, a carer, your pet or family member, you get the drift; basically anything or anyone at all that helped during these difficult times.

"This is open to everyone, young and old alike throughout Argyll and Bute."

You can email your contributions to laurenmartin@argylltsi.org.uk.

Lauren added: "These will all be collated at the end of the lockdown and published into a book, to keep the memories alive and show future generations how we got through Covid-19."
