A delivery driver was assaulted by two men on Wednesday, as they attempted to carry out two separate robberies in the South Side.

At around 10.25pm, the two men were in a take-away shop in Paisley Road when they assaulted one of the delivery drivers and stole food before leaving the shop.

They then crossed over to Admiral Street, where they assaulted a member of the public and tried to steal his bike.

The man did not require medical treatment and managed to keep hold of his bike.

Officers have been checking CCTV footage for any additional information and are appealing to those who were in the area at the time to come forward.

Detective Constable Kirstie Black said: “From our enquiries carried out so far, we know there were other people in the area at the time of the incidents.

"They may not be aware these two men are responsible for these crimes and I would ask them to get in touch with us as I’m sure they have information which could assist our enquiries as we try to locate these two men.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call officers at Govan Police Station via 101. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
