A MAN was arrested in the centre of Helensburgh after allegedly threatening shop staff and brandishing a glass bottle towards police officers.
A report was received on Thursday afternoon, May 7 of a male being aggressive towards passers-by near to the Tesco supermarket on Sinclair Street and officers attended the location at around 2pm.
The man was said to have been in possession of a bottle of whisky and had allegedly been aggressive and threatening to nearby shop staff.

According to police, when officers approached the man he held the bottle in a manner which suggested he would use it as a weapon to strike them with and he initially failed to put it down when asked.
He was eventually handcuffed and taken to Clydebank police station where he was charged with a disorder offence and possession of an offensive weapon.
The 43-year-old, of no fixed abode, was released to appear at court on a later date.
