POLICE have arrested a man suspected of driving under the influence of drugs near Loch Lomond.

Officers received reports from members of the public regarding a male suspected to be under the influence while at the wheel of a BMW near Tarbet pier on the evening of Saturday, June 6.

The 33-year-old man, from Glasgow, was traced within the vehicle and allegedly observed to be under the influence of possibly alcohol or drugs.

He passed a breath test but, according to police, had difficulty walking or talking and so was arrested and taken to Clydebank police office.

After refusing to provide a urine sample for analysis the man was charged on suspicion of drug driving and with possession of cocaine; he was held in custody to appear at court.
