FIVE local heroes in the Helensburgh and Lomond area will receive a free photography session as part of a national campaign to thank NHS staff.

The Portraits of Togetherness initiative has been launched by the Guild of Photographers to give something back to key health service workers who have helped others during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rhu-based Louise Cairns, a member of the Guild who runs her own studio Life in Focus Portraits, is now asking for nominations for people to receive the free photography session and a large mounted print.

To put forward your local NHS hero just complete the nomination form on the Guild of Photographers website before July 31, and on September 1 five people will be selected for the gift.

Louise said: "I really wish that I could do this for everyone, but as that isn’t possible I am also offering 'pay it forward' gift vouchers; for just £20 you can gift a session to your favourite NHS or care worker, these heavily discounted vouchers cover a full session and include a mounted desk sized print.

"What better gift than the gift of memories?"

Guild directors Steve and Lesley Thirsk said: “The Guild has an amazing and highly varied photographic community and many initiatives are member driven, as this one is.

"We are very proud of Louise who has generously committed to this wonderful campaign, and are really looking forward to seeing some of the stunning images from these photoshoots, as well as hearing about the local NHS nominated heroes.”
