A HELENSBURGH woman appeared in court this week after allegedly reversing her car into a children's play area whilst under the influence of alcohol.
Police received reports of a Ford Mondeo having collided with gates at a park in Campbell Drive, on the site of the former Hermitage Academy, shortly after 8pm on Sunday, July 12, while children were playing close by.
Officers attended the scene and reportedly found the female driver to be intoxicated.
Police say the 39-year-old was arrested after refusing to provide a sample of breath for analysis.

After being taken to Clydebank police office, breath samples were eventually taken which, according to police, showed alcohol levels “well in excess of the legal limit”.
The woman was held in custody before appearing at court the following day, charged with drink-driving.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
