A 30-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with the death of teenager Kirk Allan in Helensburgh.

Officers received a report of a concern for person around 6.25am on Saturday, July 25.

Police attended an address in the town's Johnson Court and discovered the body of 19-year-old Mr Allan inside.

Detective Inspector Steve Martin said: “Our thoughts are with the family of Kirk at this very difficult time for them.

"They have released his photograph and have asked to be left in peace so they can come to terms with what has happened.

“The death is currently being treated as suspicious pending the results of a post mortem.

"Our enquiries so far indicate that this appears to be an isolated incident and officers are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the death.

"A police presence will remain in the area while officers work to establish the full circumstances of what has happened.

“Anyone with information that may help with our enquiries, who has not already spoken to officers, is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1006 of Saturday, 25 July, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
