A HELENSBURGH man was found in possession of controlled drugs at a children's play area in the town, according to police.

Officers say that a proscribed drug was recovered from a 44-year-old man at a play park near Jellicoe Place, in the Churchill area, at around 6.30pm on Saturday, July 18.

A report on the incident has been sent to the procurator fiscal.

Meanwhile, two men are also the subject of reports to the fiscal for alleged drug offences after police carried out searches at properties in Helensburgh.

A 44-year-old man is the subject of a report for alleged possession of controlled drugs after officers executed a drugs search warrant at an address in Williamson Drive at around 3pm on Tuesday, July 14.

And a 31-year-old man is the subject of a report for a variety of alleged drug-related offences following a police search of a property in Logie Place at around 9.35pm on Friday, July 17.

In an unrelated incident, a 56-year-old woman was issued with a recorded police warning for the possession of controlled drugs at an address in the town’s Drumfork Court at around 7.20pm on Wednesday, July 15.
