POLICE, firefighters and the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat were called to a report of children putting themselves in danger at Luss Pier.

Staff working for a children’s unit near Stirling raised the alarm at 8.40pm on Tuesday, August 11, stating that two boys, aged 12 and 13, had climbed underneath the pier and were refusing to return to the shore.

Due to concerns that the children might fall into the water or hurt themselves on the pier structure, emergency services attended and tried to rescue the boys.

After evading attempts to remove them, the boys were eventually taken off the pier.

They were charged with culpable and reckless conduct for allegedly endangering the emergency services, before being returned to their accommodation.
