A TEENAGER has been charged with wilful fire-raising after a number of wheelie bins were set alight near a property in Queen Street in Helensburgh.

Police attended immediately after receiving a call at 12.20am on Tuesday, August 11 giving descriptions of a group of youths allegedly involved.

Officers reportedly saw a number of youths matching those descriptions when they arrived at the scene.

Police say that while all of the youths made off, three were traced within nearby gardens.

An 18-year-old male from Henry Bell Street in Helensburgh was traced and arrested at his home address, charged and held in custody for court, where he was made the subject of a 7pm-7am home curfew.
