AN ANGRY Luss local left a dirty protest on the counter of an ice cream van after complaining about the use of the vehicle’s chimes, according to police.

A 62-year-old man from the village reportedly approached the ice cream van at Luss Pier just before 7pm on Sunday, August 30 to object to the vendor’s jingle.

Police say the owner of the ice cream van was trading within the terms of his licence, however, he was reportedly verbally abused by the 62-year-old male before the man placed a dog poo bag and its contents onto the counter of the van.

Police attended a short time later and noted statements from witnesses before visiting a nearby address where the man was charged.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal and police say the van has since been put off the road for deep cleaning due to the alleged actions of the accused.
