POLICE in Helensburgh have issued a warning over the flying of drones after a craft was spotted in the air above the town earlier this month.
Officers received a report of a drone being flown over buildings in the Redgauntlet Road area of Helensburgh around 1pm on Tuesday, September 1 however they were unable to identify the location of the ‘pilot’.
Strict legislation means that the flying of drones over populated areas is illegal and police say a crime report has been raised over last week’s incident for an alleged breach of the Air Navigation Order 2016.
Anyone who may have any information relating to the use of the drone in question is asked to contact PC Kelso at Helensburgh police office.
