A TEENAGER who was provoked into a violent assault in the village that left his victim badly hurt and permanently disfigured will find out his fate next month.

Jordan Boyd, also known as Jordan Izatt, appeared on September 25 at Dumbarton Sheriff Court for sentencing on one charge of assault, under provocation, and a breach of the peace.

The 19-year-old, previously listed in court papers as residing in Laggary Road in Rhu and now of Helensburgh, pleaded guilty to carrying out a sustained attack on a man in Lineside Walk on January 27, 2019.

Izatt headbutted his victim, repeatedly struck him with a bottle and knocked him to the ground, to the other man’s severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

The charge to which Izatt pleaded guilty noted that the teenager had carried out the assault under provocation.

Izatt also admitted behaving in an aggressive manner in the car park at Dalreoch railway station in Dumbarton on June 22 last year, when he confronted another man, brandished a broken bottle and a piece of a drinks can at him, tried to leave a police vehicle and repeatedly shouted, swore and uttered offensive remarks at officers.

Izatt was on bail at the time.

Sentence on the January 27 incident was deferred to a further hearing on November 3 for a background report.

Izatt is currently subject of a community payback order imposed for the June 22 offence; that order was allowed to continue without further review.
