THERE are only a few weeks left for you to sample the beautiful colours of autumn at Geilston Garden in Cardross – but you can now sit back and enjoy some stunning images of the garden looking at its best throughout the winter too.

While the long days of summer may be well and truly past, the garden is still seeing plenty of visitors – and as the pictures on this page by photographer Lesley Roberts show, the animal life to be found at Geilston is just as picture perfect as the garden’s human visitors.

And while members of the public have been enjoying a gentle stroll around the garden over the last few weeks, the members of the Friends of Geilston group have spent much of that time assembling photos sent in by visitors to the garden for potential inclusion in its calendar for next year.

The best entries have been chosen by local artist David McGowan, and the results have now been published in the new calendar for all to see.

The calendars cost £5 each and will be on sale at the Friends of Geilston Sunday afternoon cake stall in the garden between 2pm and 4pm each Sunday during October.

They will also be available at the Geilston admissions hut when the garden is open, between 10am and 5pm from Thursday to Monday until Saturday, October 31, as well as at numerous local outlets and online.

Alana Ingram from the Friends of Geilston said: “We are very grateful to local businesses who have agreed to stock and sell our calendars – Craigend Nursery in Cardross, Cardross Newsagent, Linda MacDonald Jewellery, Cardross Chemist and Ardardan Farm Shop.

“They can also be purchased via the Friends of Geilston website and arrangements can be made for collection or they can be sent out via post.”
