SHIP spotters were out in force along both banks of the Clyde earlier this month as vessels from the United States, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France and Portugal gathered ahead of the latest NATO Joint Warrior training exercise.
Among them was NRP Corte-Real, captured on camera by our photographer Lesley Roberts, a Vasco da Gama-class frigate operated by the Portuguese Navy which sailed past Helensburgh en route to a brief stopover in Glasgow before the start of the exercise.
Eleven nations – ten NATO and one non-NATO – are taking part in the exercise, which started on Sunday, October 4 and runs until Thursday, October 15.
