FIRST responders in Helensburgh and Lomond have restarted their community work this month – six months after being stood down for their own safety.
Volunteers with the Helensburgh and Lomond Community First Responders group are now back on the road following additional training in PPE, while members of the Garelochhead and Rosneath Peninsula Community First Responders have also been given the green light to resume their support for the ambulance service.
The groups’ activities were suspended at the beginning of the coronavirus lockdown when the Scottish Ambulance Service took the decision to stand down volunteers during the pandemic’s peak.
Trained volunteers with both groups will once again be able to attend any local emergencies when required.
