RANGERS and Castore have confirmed that their new Glasgow shop will open on Saturday morning at 9am.

The outlet, which is situated next to the Sauchiehall Street entrance to Buchanan Galleries, is the only city centre shop where fans will be able to buy official merchandise.

Stores are also planned for locations at Glasgow Airport and in Edinburgh and Belfast and Rangers Commercial and Marketing Director James Bisgrove said: ‘’The opening of the Rangers Store in Glasgow City centre will build on the fantastic success of the new Ibrox Stadium Store, where supporters have purchased official Rangers products in record numbers since its opening in August.

"As we count down to the clubs 150th Anniversary season, we’ll be collaborating closely with Castore as they further expand the Rangers retail footprint across the UK, which will continue to complement the Online store serving Rangers supporters across the globe."

Castore clinched a multi-million deal with Rangers earlier this year to become their new kit and merchandise partner and the Rangers Store at Ibrox was reopened in August after a six-figure refurbishment.

Glasgow Times:

The early weeks of the new retail arrangement were beset by complaints from supporters as major shareholders Club 1872 demanded answers from Rangers and Castore, which is operated by brothers Phil and Tom Beahon, after delays in delivering pre-orders and issues with the quality of items that were produced and sold.

The deal with Castore saw Rangers bring a welcome end to their long-running legal dispute with Sports Direct and heralded in a new era for their retail operation as supporters were given the chance to put their money directly into the club once again.

Glasgow Times:

And fans will now be able to shop in Glasgow as well as at Ibrox as Castore prepare to open the doors to their new shop in the coming days.

The city centre store will be followed by a major launch at the newly built Edmiston House next year as Rangers revamp the area around Ibrox ahead of their 150th anniversary celebrations.

Castore’s Head of Team Partnerships Pascal Lafitte said: "The opening of The Rangers Store: Buchanan Galleries is a significant milestone for Castore in expanding the Rangers retail footprint within a vibrant part of Glasgow city centre.

"With preparations for the 150th anniversary season in full flow, we will look to build on the momentum generated by this season’s kit launches and develop a retail offering with the Rangers fans at the heart of it."
