A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with two motoring offences after police pulled over a car in Helensburgh last week.
Officers on mobile patrol saw a white BMW 1 Series reportedly being driven “well in excess” of the 30mph limit from Rhu towards Helensburgh at around 10pm on Wednesday, October 28.
Weather conditions were said to have been poor at the time, with standing water in places and debris on the road due to high winds.

Officers signalled for the vehicle to stop once they had caught up with it, and reportedly saw he had a mobile phone sitting within sight which was playing a video.
The man, from Rotherham in South Yorkshire, was charged with careless driving due to the car’s speed, and with the playing of a video likely to distract him.
Police say the vehicle was also found to have two illegal tyres fitted.
A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
