WE’ve never been ones to fall back on the famous line about autumn being the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.

Well, not until now, anyway. But as these pictures taken by Advertiser readers Alan Frew, Graham Christie, Robert Duncan, Douglas Thomson and James Ferguson in recent weeks show, an Ode to Autumn in Helensburgh is about much more than the tranquil images conjured up in that much-loved poem by John Keats.

Huge thanks to all who sent in - and continue to send in - pictures of the Helensburgh and Lomond scenery at its best, no matter the time of year. If you’d like to see one of your pictures in a future feature on Advertiser readers’ best images, just email it - along with brief details of when, where and by whom it was taken - to editorial@helensburghadvertiser.co.uk or send it through the Send Us Your News section of this site.

Thanks - and happy snapping!
