A FREE online directory featuring more than 550 listings for Helensburgh and Lomond businesses has been launched.

New information hub Destination Helensburgh was formed over the summer to act as a one-stop shop for details on all things local and the project’s founders are asking for residents to help them make it as complete as possible.

As well as a shopping directory of local retailers the website also lists local places to eat, places to stay, trades and services, and local organisations and groups. Listings are grouped into categories and are easy to filter and search, and consist of the business or organisation name, type and a link to websites or social media pages.

Anne Foy, part of the Destination Helensburgh team, said: “A basic listing in the directory is free, and we now need the help of the community to make sure the listing is as complete as it can be.

“Please do take a look and let us know what’s missing or needs updated by contacting us via Facebook or emailing us at info@destinationhelensburgh.org.

“We also have a business membership programme which gives a full webpage and featured listing plus other benefits which is free until February 1, 2021, and then starts at only £60 per year.

“If you are involved in a local community organisation/charity/not-for-profit group, we are offering a free webpage as well as a listing in our organisation directory.

“We also have an event calendar of what’s on locally, so do let us know about your planned activities and we can then list these and promote them on our social channels.

“Please help us build a useful resource for the local community and promote Helensburgh and Lomond as a great place to live, work and visit.”

Destination Helensburgh is supporting the national Scotland Loves Local campaign and is encouraging everyone to use the hashtag #HelensburghLovesLocal on their social posts to help highlight the wide range of products and services available in the area.
