HELENSBURGH train services are disrupted this morning after a lorry transporting timber struck level crossing barriers in Cardross.

The truck got stuck on the level crossing at the village's railway station shortly after 9am on Friday morning, with ScotRail reporting that "response teams are en route" to examine the situation, and should arrive before 10am.

Helensburgh central councillor Graham Hardie was at the scene and captured photos of the barrier lodged on top of the vehicle.

Train services between Helensburgh Central and Edinburgh will be cancelled, delayed, or terminated at and started back from Dumbarton Central, according to ScotRail's website.

Disruption is expected to last until around 10.30am.
