COLGRAIN Primary School and early learning centre gathered donations of gifts from children and families to donate to Argyle Lodge Care Home in Helensburgh.

The aim was to bring some festive cheer and happiness to the residents, in light of the current situation we are all facing.

The school usually holds a senior citizens’ tea dance before Christmas, where members of the community come along for a few hours of song, dance and afternoon tea, but the pandemic meant everybody at the school knew things would have to be more than a little different this year.

This project was organised by school clerical assistant Carol Stevens.

Pauline Walsh, Colgrain’s head teacher, said: “We were absolutely delighted with the demonstration of kindness from the families of Colgrain.

“Seeing and hearing of the joy the gifts have brought to the residents of Argyle Lodge has really reminded us all of the joy of giving at Christmastime.”
