A HELENSBURGH woman was arrested for allegedly slapping a police officer after falsely claiming she was a victim of domestic violence.

Police were called out to an address in John Street around 9pm on Wednesday, December 23 from which a female had made the allegations.

Officers said that once they were within the woman’s home it became apparent that the allegations were false, and the woman continually used abusive language towards them.
