THE owner of two retirement housing complexes in Helensburgh is calling on art-loving members of the public to get creative to help celebrate its golden anniversary after 50 years in the business.
People in Helensburgh and Lomond are being encouraged to put pen to paper to help design a new logo for Bield Housing and Care, which operates nine developments across Argyll and Bute, including Waverley Court in West King Street and Birch Cottages in Sinclair Street.
The deadline for entries to the competition is this Sunday, January 24, with the winner set to be announced at the end of this month on Bield’s social media channels.
The winner will receive a £100 voucher of their choice.
Elizabeth Peacock, head of development and business growth at Bield, said: “We are looking forward to engaging with the local communities that Bield operates in across Scotland as we start our anniversary celebrations.

“There is not much time until the competition closes so we would encourage those interested in getting involved to get their creative thinking caps on.”
The Advertiser revealed on Hogmanay that Liz Saunders, the manager of the Waverley Court complex, had received a British Empire Medal (BEM) in the Queen’s New Year honours list.
The charity will celebrate its 50th anniversary of providing housing services for around 20,000 older people across 23 local authority areas on March 17 with a host of activities throughout the year to mark the occasion.
All entries in the competition should be sent to hello@bield.co.uk. Any entries sent after January 24 will not be included.
