A TEENAGER has been fined for allegedly breaching Covid travel restrictions after police pulled over a vehicle in Cardross.

Officers stopped a car near the village’s golf club on Friday night, January 29, and a strong smell of cannabis was reportedly detected from within the vehicle.

Its two occupants were detained for a search which is said to have resulted in the recovery of a quantity of cannabis, for which a 17-year-old male from Kirkintilloch was reported.

The teen and his male passenger were also issued with fixed penalties for breaching government legislation put in place to stop unnecessary travel between local authorities during the current lockdown.
