A LATE night military training exercise near Helensburgh is planned for this week - with Chinook helicopters and soldiers firing their personal weapons.
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has issued a warning to residents living near the Garelochhead training area to expect some noise disruption during the exercise.
The drills are scheduled to take place overnight on Wednesday, March 17, if weather conditions are suitable.
Overnight noise from the site is expected between approximately 10pm and 4am.

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), the part of the MoD which manages military land and buildings, is warning locals not to be alarmed.
Ricky Mackenzie, training safety officer at Garelochead Training Area, said: “We will take all possible steps to mitigate any noise disturbance to local people while allowing this vital training to take place as required, but unfortunately local people are still likely to hear noise from the exercise.
"We are grateful for their ongoing support.”
