PUPILS and staff at Rhu Primary celebrated Red Nose Day on Friday by starting out on their journey towards becoming a Rights Respecting School – and they've produced a special video to mark the occasion.

As well as joining in a day of fun, games and laughter in support of Comic Relief, the school's pupils, teachers and support staff chose the occasion to explain what becoming a Rights Respecting School is all about.

The Rights Respecting Schools campaign is run by UNICEF and aims to raise awareness among children of their own rights and of their importance in the world and to others.

After explaining what Rights Respecting Schools is all about, the five-minute video launches into a spectacular routine of dances and smiles around the school playground, all set to the cheerful sound of ELO's 1977 hit song 'Mr Blue Sky' – an appropriate song for the gorgeous, sunny spring day when the video was shot.

Hermitage Primary, Kilcreggan Primary and Hermitage Academy already have Rights Respecting Schools status.
