LOCH Lomond Rescue Boat (LLRB) volunteers came to the aid of two people in the River Leven yesterday following an alert from the police.

A passer-by was reportedly concerned for the pair's safety after they were spotted in a small rib boat on the water near to Cameron House Hotel, struggling in poor weather conditions.

The incident happened at around 4.35pm on Monday, April 5.

The team at LLRB, a non-profit organisation which is run on the goodwill of the public and local businesses as well as West Dunbartonshire Council grant assistance, received a message from Police Scotland about the incident and immediately rushed to help.

They eventually located the small boat heading back up the River Leven.

The occupants were instructed by the team to put life jackets on, and LLRB stayed alongside until they had returned to their point of launch.

LLRB have been approached for comment.
