FIREFIGHTERS from Helensburgh were called out to tackle a blaze in the hills above Rhu on Wednesday evening.
Pictures taken by an Advertiser reader from the Rosneath peninsula at around 6pm on April 7 showed a fire apparently having taken hold on land above the former MoD properties on Smuggler's Way in the village.
A spokesperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue confirmed that a single appliance from Helensburgh was in attendance at the scene, tackling a grass fire.
The blaze was extinguished by 7pm.
