THE first in what it’s hoped will be a busy summer of events in Hermitage Park takes place this weekend.
The Friends of Hermitage Park are hosting an Azalea Festival from 11am until 3pm this Sunday, May 2 to celebrate just one of the many flowers that are in full bloom around the park.
Azaleas will be on sale from M&M Nurseries of Eredine, Loch Awe, priced from £3, while the Friends will also have stalls selling garden plants, preserves and chutneys.
The new Pavilion at the Park cafe and kiosk will also be there serving taster samples from their menu – while there will be plenty of time for a stroll around the park to enjoy the azaleas and rhododendrons currently in flower.
Members of the public are asked to bring a mask, observe social distancing, sanitise hands on arrival and follow the one-way system around the park to ensure compliance with Covid rules.
Entry is free, though donations to the Friends are welcome. Vehicle parking is in the park’s car park.
