HELENSBURGH police arrested a man in the centre of the town recently after he allegedly made sexually suggestive remarks to two schoolgirls.

Two girls, both aged 14, were reportedly approached in Maitland Street and East Princes Street at around 5.40pm on Wednesday, April 28.

The man is said to have made comments on the pair’s clothing and to have made indecent remarks to both.

The teenagers became alarmed and moved away before returning home and telling their parents.

Police were then contacted and statements were taken.

Officers eventually traced a 38-year-old man from Clydebank and arrested him in connection with the incident.

He later appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court and a date has been set for trial.
