A PAIR of "massive drone-like aeroplanes" turned heads around Helensburgh and Lomond when they passed over the area on Tuesday.
The aircraft were snapped as they passed over Glen Fruin by Helen Sadie, a member of the Advertiser's Camera Club group on Facebook.
Helen said she thought they had landed for around a minute or so before taking off.
"Couldn't believe my eyes," she said.
According to other members of our Camera Club group, the aircraft were a pair of Boeing V22 Ospreys, 400 of which have been built for use by the United States Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps since 1988.
It's thought they may be in the area as part of Strike Warrior 2021, the latest incarnation of the biannual NATO Joint Warrior exercise, which began on Friday and lasts until Thursday, May 20.
