PARENTS, teachers and local children have helped create a fairy trail at a popular walking route near Helensburgh in a bid to raise school funds.

The Cardross Primary School Association (CPSA) has organised the initiative with committee members and their relatives, class teachers and village Brownies all chipping in to make fairy houses and other fun items.

The trail will be in place at Ardmore Point until June 27 and visitors are encouraged to make a donation to the school through a Just Giving web page.

So far the online fund-raiser has collected just over £900 of its £3,000 target.

Previous donation appeals have funded additional IT and interactive science equipment, as well as library and art resources and outdoor learning equipment. Search justgiving.com/crowdfunding/cardrossprimary-cpsa to donate.

Helensburgh's Grey Matters - Active Ageing group is also running a fairy house trail at the end of this month.

Members have hand knitted 20 items which will be displayed around town centre shops from June 26 until July 4. A prize donated by Morrisons will be handed out to anyone who finds all 20 items.
