A HELENSBURGH man has been reported by police for the alleged possession of an offensive weapon.

Officers reportedly observed a male in possession of a metallic item in West Clyde Street at around 9pm on Sunday, May 30.

When asked what the item was the man initially stated it was a vape pen, according to police.

However, officers subsequently recovered a lock-back knife from his possession and the 19-year-old from East King Street has been reported to the procurator fiscal.
